Melancon Pharmacy is a locally owned independent pharmacy. Our friendly staff includes five pharmacists with more than 90 years of combined experience, along with certified pharmacy technicians, cashiers and administrative supportive personnel.
We are available to service walk-in customers for traditional prescription medications, in addition to specialty compounded preparations for human as well as veterinary customers. We also carry in stock a wide range of over-the-counter items, diabetic supplies and durable medical equipment supplies. We can place special orders upon request, with next-day delivery on most items.
At this same location, we also house Melancon Pharmacy Services. This entity offers long term care services by providing medications and pharmacy consultation to long-term care facilities, such as nursing homes and specialized rehabilitation centers.
We are available from 8 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. We also offer after-hour emergency service for our customers.
Edmond (Eddie) Melancon III
Eddie and his wife, Angela, have two children – a son, Rene, and a daughter, Jamie. Eddie enjoys hunting, fishing and playing golf when he’s not at the pharmacy.
David Melancon, PD
A Carencro native and 1979 graduate of Carencro High, David specializes in geriatric pharmacy and has more than 20 years of experience in clinical geriatric practice. He has been a member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists since 1990.
David enjoys reviewing medication regimens and recommending changes that improve patient outcomes. David explains, “Many people can have their quality of life improved by being on the proper medications and eliminating unnecessary medications.”
A 1985 University of Louisiana-Monroe graduate, David is married to Chris Melancon, and they have two children, Kay and Grant. He spends his time off fishing, hunting, and playing golf or tennis.
Chris B. Melancon, PD
Chris earned her degree in from the University of Louisiana-Monroe in 1985. She is the wife of David Melancon, and is mom to Kay and Grant.
When away from her professional duties, Chris enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with her family, and volunteering for school projects.
Alison Garcille, Pharm D
Alison is a graduate of LSU and Xavier University College of Pharmacy. She has over 13 years of experience serving patients in the community pharmacy setting. She enjoys getting to know her patients and helping them achieve positive health outcomes in a cost-effective manner. Alison strives to provide compassionate care with a friendly smile.
Alison and her husband, Eric, are proud parents of two young children, Caroline and Sadie. When not at the pharmacy, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching LSU football.
After providing service at the Church Street location for 55 years, David and Eddie decided it was time to move the business to a larger facility. The new facility opened for business on September 22, 2008, at 730 Veteran’s Drive in Carencro. We look forward to continuing to serve our customers for many years to come.
